Summary
The goal of this study was to perform comparative analysis on the Firewipe with a developed removal method for toxic metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel, silver, zinc, and chromium). The removal efficiencies were assessed by analyzing extracts of wiped hard surface samples by ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) and GC-MS (gas chromatography mass spectrometry).
The testing results showed approximately complete removal of metals (close to 100%) using a hard surface sample.
